Dustin “Dusty” Hollis is the kind of mechanic who believes in handshakes, hard work, and doing the job right the first time. Based at Hopkinsville–Christian County Airport (KHVC), Dusty has earned a reputation for dependable aircraft maintenance built on experience, integrity, and grit.

For over 15 years, Dusty has actively served as a Chinook crew chief in the U.S. Army, maintaining one of the most complex rotary-wing aircraft in the world. This military experience has shaped his rock-solid mindset for precision, safety, and following procedures—lessons he applies to every maintenance job.

As a certified A&P mechanic, licensed pilot, and proud aircraft owner, Dusty brings not only technical expertise but a deep passion for aviation. He is also a dealer for Aircraft Spruce and an Approved SureFly Installation Specialist. His extensive training includes the Lycoming Service School, Abaris General Aviation Composite Repair Course, and specialized courses in survival, first aid, and emergency response—such as the Coast Guard Ice Rescue Course and Coast Guard Advanced Helicopter Rescue Course—equipping him with expert skills in rescue operations across diverse and challenging environments.

When he’s not in the hangar, you’ll find him fishing, hiking, or chasing the next sunrise.
